CDL Week In Review: Stage 4, Week 1

In a week with minimal upsets, Florida Mutineers lead the charge in Group B, while Atlanta FaZe sits pretty at the top of Group A. The biggest upset came in Day 1 of the first week of Stage IV, as Florida Mutineers edged out Stage II Champions Toronto Ultra in a 3-2 fashion. Recent addition Havok, who initially started off slow, caught everyone by surprise as he stood out as one of the best performers in Florida’s two fixtures. It remains to be seen if he is the right man to elevate Mutineers to the level where they can contend for Championships, but the current success that they are having will ultimately increase their chances of making Champs.

The biggest disappointment of the week was undoubtedly OpTic Chicago. In their third encounter with two-time champions Atlanta FaZe, Optic yet again crumbled under the pressure and was swept 3-0. Many fans and analysts have brought up the idea that it could be a confidence-related problem for the team stacked to the brim with talent. Will this issue be resolved at the Major on LAN?

Match of the Week

New York Subliners vs Florida Mutineers

In a match that will undoubtedly determine who takes the number one seed in Group B, Subliners vs Mutineers will be a cracker. Florida has been in top form, but Stage IV finalists Subliners have yet to lose a series with Hydra against anyone not named FaZe. Can Florida take down two of the Top 4 in the Standings in back-to-back weeks?

Player to Watch

Afro, Royal Ravens

After finally finding some consistency in the season, Royal Ravens decided to make two roster changes, one being the addition and debut of Afro. The rookie showed glimpses of his ability in Week 1 versus Empire and Mutineers, but the team still had zero wins to show for it. London will be relying on him to take his game to the next level after finding his footing in the top flight.
