Low tier teams on the rise. Top tier teams on the decline. There is no doubt that week two of Stage two ruined everyone’s Pickems. The biggest shocker of the week was Optic Chicago, as they failed to record a single map victory in two series. The fan-favorites who started the season strong are starting to get into murky waters, as they look to miss out on another Major Grand Final if they don’t improve right away. Serving them one of the losses are a rejuvenated Minnesota Rokkr side who look like a completely different team with the addition of Standy. The rookie registered 82 Fantasy Points on his debut week to give Rokkr a new lease of life.
Another team that made a change for Week 3 was Nadeshot’s LA Thieves. However, Venom didn’t quite provide the spark that the team was looking for against Faze and Royal Ravens. Many now wonder if Thieves just can’t cut the mustard with their core three players, with Slasher, the leader of the team, more likely to face the axe.
Match of the Week
Optic vs Empire
The eClasico. The biggest rivalry in Call of Duty. But unlike previous years, neither side is the best team in the game. Both tasted defeat against Rokkr last week and are in lacklustre form heading into the major. As the final game before Major II starts, both teams will be desperate to win this game in order to gain as much momentum as they can
Player to Watch
The superstar of Optic and arguably the player in the world had a rough showing in his matches against Subliners and Mutineers in Week 2. A Fantasy score of 32 was not what his owners expected at all, and the recent meta change definitely had a part to play in this disastrous performance. But a player as good as Dashy simply doesn’t have two bad weeks. We expect him to bounce back straight away with a statement performance against rivals Dallas Empire.
