CDL Week In Review: Major III – 12-19 May

Stage III drew to a close last weekend, and Atlanta FaZe have been crowned Champions of the Major. The now two-time winners in the 2021 season took down New York Subliners 5-2, after entering the Grand Final from the Loser’s bracket. Arcitys was named the MVP of the Stage for his consistent dominant performances across the board. The dependable AR powerhouse, who was under scrutiny for his underperformance in Stage II, came up clutch time and time again to get his team across the line in multiple games.

Team News

Minnesota Rokkr announced that MajorManiak would be returning to the starting lineup in replace of Accuracy. The former has been a top performer in the Challengers circuit, helping his team make the Grand Finals of the recent Playoffs. Accuracy on the other hand, who voiced his frustrations of being benched after a tough time fasting in Ramadan, underperformed throughout Stage III where Rokkr finished 9-10th at the Major.

Team to Watch

London Royal Ravens
The rejuvenated team finished 7-8th at the Stage III Major following a respectable performance in Group Play. The 2 NA 2 EU side took both Major Finalists, Subliners and FaZe, to Game five. But things seem to be changing for the Royal Ravens once again. Per IntelCallofDuty, the team is expected to make yet another roster change, bringing in Afro and Alexx in place of Zaptius and Zed. The pressure is on them to keep the ball rolling to avoid backlash from the community.
